300 square feet of tiny living perfection in a $500 pallet house

Building a cabin yourself is significantly less expensive than purchasing a prefab storage building. Including doors and windows..

We previously published a piece highlighting the $500 pallet house created by I-Beam Design and constructed entirely of pallets. Here are some more pictures of this brilliant concept, which might go a long way toward housing the world’s homeless, refugees, and even off-gridders seeking to live more cheaply and simply.

The Pallet House is 256 square feet in size and is made of about 80 pallets that have been hammered and tied together. It is obvious because of the straightforward, cost-effective design. I Beam Design estimates that the overall cost will be around $480 ($400 for the pallets and roughly $80 for the hardware).
